As the wind slams against your shutters on your window I scurry into your warm comforting embrace. I felt safe, at peace, I guess the feeling of someone’s arms wrapped around you, holding you close is comforting. As I rest my head on your chest and hearing your heart beat matched to mine I knew I was safe. You are my protector throughout the storm, when the crash of thunder happen you would pull me closer and tighten your grip around me. The feeling of your warm skin on my still burns into me to this day. The sound of your heartbeat is the song that puts me to sleep. Your strong hands the way they delicately draw shapes into my back makes me smile because if anyone found out they will call you a softy. But then I wake up, you’re gone it’s only me in the bed, the other side of the bed is still made like I left it there the night before. You weren’t here, you were never here, right?
