Favorite Quote:
"Stop pitying yourself. Pity yourself, and life becomes an endless nightmare."~Osamu Dazai

Take a leap of faith; don’t be one to constantly defend.
Tumble head first into the fray,
For its fractured fate is yours to mend.

Don’t be afraid to break, to crumble under immense pressure in the end,
Because there's always a path to take, it’s up to you to find the way
Take a leap of faith; don’t be one to constantly defend.

Fear is routine; it’s a seed embedded within all of us. Don’t pretend
Nor deny its existence; be its master and keep it at bay
For its fractured fate is yours to mend.

Your courage and determination is your blade; used to rend
The walls which intimidate, making one stray.
Take a leap of faith; don’t be one to constantly defend.

Don’t let pain make you kneel; be on its level, make it a friend.
The throbbing ache and silent screams, become nightmares on replay;
For its fractured fate is yours to mend.

Battle worn but driven, to reach beyond these boundless terrors; extend
A hand towards your distant destiny. Do not be afraid to open the gateway.
Take a leap of faith; don’t be one to constantly defend.
For its fractured fate is yours to mend.

The author's comments:

I was inspired by one of the most painful moments of my life; which was when I fracutured my leg over the summer. I may sound dramatic but it was such a painful process for me, and the fact that I broke my leg doing the thing that I loved, made it even worse. I hope people can read this poem and summon the strength to move on, as to not let fear and pain get in their way. I also hope to find someway to continue doing what I love, despite the traumatizing event.
