Silence

The constant ticking of the clock cannot disrupt the calm
The ringing of church bells cannot pierce through this silence
Each trial is met with sealed lips
It is an insanity I find myself in, one I wait to be rid of

This overwhelming silence is a constant reminder
Of how screaming is a mere weakness
This endurance is considered strength,
A valued asset I take for granted

I realize my true hope and desire,
For the full effect of a scream to flow from within me
To let my emotions spill and for my heart to open once again,
For spring to bring forth blooming plants in a barren land
