Breakaway
I am trapped in a hole,
Ten feet below the ground
I feel that I am lost,
And never will be found.
Everyday I try to climb
Up this dark dirt wall
And everyday as I get further,
I lose my step and fall
So here I am at the bottom
Of this deep, dark hole
Wondering, even hoping,
If I can mend my soul.
Then I stand up,
And swear with all my might
That one day, finally
I will find the light.
One day I will be happy
And it shall stay that way
For starting on this very day,
From this prison will I break away.
