Please don't look when I tap my feet,
don't try to stop my leg from shaking.
I know it's weird, just move your seat,
because it's keeping me from breaking.
Don't watch my fingers as they are bitten,
don't ask why they may bleed,
why the skin around them is thin,
or why it's something I need.
Don't question why I'm so quiet,
why my eyes always point down.
Because it makes my brain start a riot,
and now there is no sound.
Don't stare at me when you ask these words,
because I may look scared.
It's something I have always heard,
so don't just look and stare.
I know I'm shy, it's not unknown,
that doesn't mean we shouldn't talk.
All that means is I'm used to being alone,
I never talk a lot.
