what is love?

really, what is it?
do you know what it is?
what if i don’t agree with your definition of love?
does that mean that i am wrong?
does that mean that i don’t know what love really feels like?

what is love?
is it saying the words i love you
is it saying the words i care for you
is it saying i’ll always be here for you
is it the sensation that is caused by a series of chemicals in your body?

FIRST, I’ll start by telling you what love is NOT:
it is NOT saying the words i love you
it is NOT saying the words i care for you
it is NOT saying i’ll always be here for you
AND it isn’t just a sensation that simply runs through your body as a result of chemical reactions

NO

LOVE IS:
saying i love you without actually having to orally say the words I - LOVE - YOU
it’s saying i love you by doing simple things
it’s remembering their birthday
it’s reminding her that she is beautiful
it’s reminding him that he can do anything he sets his mind to do
it’s calling them at 3 in the morning when you woke up thinking about them
it’s packing them a small snack for lunch
it’s calling them at noon to remind them to eat that small snack that you packed for them for lunch
it’s telling them that you were thinking about them all day
it’s telling them to put on their seatbelt
it’s telling them to call you when they reach their destination even if it’s a short car ride
it’s suddenly wrapping your arms around them and giving them a kiss on the forehead

LOVE IS:
SHOWING them that you care
it’s listening to them when they are having a bad day and need someone to talk to about it all
it’s asking about their family
it’s asking about school, about their job
it’s tucking them in when they fall asleep
it’s giving them a warm bowl of soup when they are sick
it’s asking them how they are feeling
it’s helping them study for that extremely difficult exam that’s the next day, even if it takes all night
it’s calling them the morning after to know how it went with that “extremely difficult exam”
it’s giving them 100% of your support even when it’s for something as simple as picking a color of nail polish to put on or choosing what color tie to wear

LOVE IS:
proving that you will never leave them even when they are at their worst.
it’s being there when they are filled with happiness but also holding them when they cry
it’s being there when they are healthy to when they have to go on daily doctor visits because that tiny cough turned in to something much worse
it’s being there when they get fired even though they can no longer give you that golden watch you wanted
it’s being there for them when everyone else is not.

THAT IS WHAT LOVE IS, THAT AND SO MUCH MORE.
ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.
DON’T TELL HIM YOU LOVE HIM
DON’T TELL HER YOU LOVE HER
SHOW HIM.
SHOW HER.

LOVE: it isn’t just a sensation that simply runs through your body as a result of chemical reactions.
LOVE: it’s difficult to supply the perfect definition of this word.
WHAT WE KNOW IS THAT LOVE IS A NOUN,
THAT IS APART OF THE EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL STATE OF BEING IN LOVE. IT CAN BE SEEN AS THE COMBINATION OF ONE’S BODY, MIND, AND SOUL OBTAINING A MAGNETIC ATTRACTION TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING AS A RESULT OF HAVING A GLIMPSE OF THEIR SOUL.
SO WHAT IS IT LIKE TO FEEL LOVE? IT’S DIFFERENT FOR ALL OF US.
IT’S UP TO YOU, TO FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF.
