Classroom

The opening doors, the opening windows
Shuttering and blinking lights
The drowsy eyes of students, in which
Nothing seems to be right

The morning assembly
And the babbling friends
Their silent chirping
That never ends

The wind blows
And the first bell rings
The fleeing laziness
When the sunlight sings

The slam of the books
Loud and quiet
The entry of teacher
Gone out of sight

The time passed by
And the period went on
And after a short nap
We ask, “Is the teacher gone?”
