I am waiting on the world to change
I am waiting for mother earth to be healed
I am waiting for the sky to be lit up by stars, not by building lights
For the air be fresh and crisp free of pollutants
For the water to be crystal clear
I am waiting for the earth to be as it was
Forests miles long
Green jungles not concrete ones
I am waiting for trees to be planted not burned
I am waiting on mother earth to be healed

I am waiting on the world to change
I am waiting for mankind to realize you can just be who you are
To stop the lies
To stop the pretending
Just leave the masks behind
Take pride in yourself
And open your mind to new cultures, and personalities
I am waiting for people to accept others
I am waiting for a time when no one is hurt by the words of others
Waiting for those to realize words can leave a cut in your heart that will never heal
I waiting for equality to be present once and for all

I am waiting for mankind to realize you can just be who you are

I am waiting on the world to change
I am waiting for peace and happiness
A time when children don't have to cry themselves to sleep
When the sounds around you are beats from a stereo
Not bombs going off, or gun shots ringing
I am waiting for the feeling of security to come back
Not being afraid to travel
Or frightened by the people around you
I am waiting for the news to tell of happiness, and achievements
Not war casualties, school shootings, or street violence
I am waiting for peace and happiness

I am waiting on the world to change
I am waiting for the cures
I am waiting for disease to be extinct
When cancer isn't a killer
I am waiting for a time when death isn't sudden because of a heart attack
When children don't have to worry about surgery and hospital visits
I waiting for a time when there is no one who has to worry about checking their blood sugar, or worrying about more memories being lost
And when everyone has the ability to see the blue sky and green grass
The chance to hear the birds sing
And an ability to speak their mind
I am waiting for the cures

I am waiting for the world to change
I am waiting for time to pass in slow motion
When everyone stops to smell the roses
And listen to the music around them
I am waiting to go to sleep without worrying what tomorrow will bring
Waking up feeling refreshed instead of stressing about the things to be done
To go one day relaxing
And go where life takes me
I am waiting for a world where money isn't everything
And work isn't what your life becomes
When everyone is smiling
And the realization that life doesn't have to be planned out sinks in
I am waiting for one day to go by
When people are not dependent on technology
And when a conversation is face to face with a person
I am waiting for time to pass in slow motion
I am waiting for the world to change
