I am from the oak scented yankee candle
from fake presents under the plastic Christmas tree
I am from the small neighborhood with children playing around with no sight of time
smell of love everywhere you wondered
I am from the yellow bright daisies which sat on my desk
The smell of maple tree that never leaves your nose after it enters
whose long limbs I remember
as if they were my own.

I am from the festival of lights and bright smiles all around
from eating with your mouth closed and always saying goodbye when leaving the house
and from eating a salad in every meal

I’m from the tooth fairy is real and Santa is not my parents
Twinkle Twinkle little star sang to me everyday
I’m from going camping but staying there in deluxe log cabins
I’m from Niskayuna and India
From my grandpa getting cancer and not surviving
going apple picking with the whole family
and a picture of my brother and I hung on my purple wall

I am from an astonishing family
who are talented, trusted, and tremendously terrific people.
