Drowning

I constantly tell you I am drowning,

Your tender hands wrapped around my neck,

As I try to gasp for breath,

Paddling with my weak legs,

Looking up into the sky,

Trying to figure out why,

Why did I do this to myself?

I am so weak,

I let you get ahold of me,

Now I am here,

Searching for answers as my lungs fill,

Fill with chlorine,

Can you please let go?

All I did was love you,

can't you see?

Now let me be,

Cause regardless,

I will still be drowning
