“Where books are burned, they will, in the end, burn people, too.”
― Joel C. Rosenberg, The Auschwitz Escape

With bright and cheery eyes,
And shiny, flowing hair,
With lips sweet and free of lies,
And skin perfectly soft and fair,
With two ears listening for God’s cue,
There is beauty in every inch of you.

With a spirit that will never die,
And a heart that accepts all,
With courage that is never shy,
And morals that refuse to fall,
With a mind that asks “what would Jesus do?”
There is beauty in every inch of you.

With long arms covered in scars,
And a painfully numb heart,
With eyes that have lost their stars,
And a soul that’s been torn apart,
With hopes and dreams that are far and few,
There is beauty in every inch of you.

With addictions nipping at your heels,
And red track marks on your elbows,
With memories of shameful deals,
And destination of “where everyone else goes,”
No matter your color or creed, what you say or do,
There is beauty in every inch of you.

I hope that people will read this and take note of the contrast between the first half and the second. It is meant to show that you, as a human being, have an inherent beauty, regardless of whether you are a 'little angel' or a damaged soul with a broken past.
