I am a free woman
but i don'tt feel so
i can do what i want
but people will judge, so..
they say i am equal to a man
but then-I cant do what he can
they say I am free like a bird
but I am not allowed to say a word
i am a free woman
but I dot't feel so
I feel so bound-all around
i am trapped-in this body
i feel so blind-in my mind
I want to rise
I want to be be wise
I want to be leader
I want to run the meter
if you gave me a chance
I might just do more than dance
i want to be free
from this misery
to all the women out there
Breath some air
I want to share that you care
'coz I to be strong
i want to belong
i can be a leader
I can speak wise words
I can be beautiful bird
in this world
Only if you give Me a chance

BTW this poem is not for me, It is dedicated to women like Aminata diallo, in the book THE BOOK OF NEGROES.
