“Courage is not a man with a gun in his hand. It's knowing you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do.” - As spoken by Atticus Finch, Harper Lee.

The Universe is the mother of despair,
By Her, life and death are in one breath sown,
Only man has crafted the rulebook of fair.

Waves crashing down on soft cheeks that cannot bear,
A life that once was, but is now in wind thrown,
The Universe is the mother of despair.

Those on their knees, quietly mourning in prayer,
Despite all their good, they are rendered alone,
Only man has crafted the rulebook of fair.

Discontent, anger, a young life She won’t spare,
A mother lays weeping, her son never grown,
The Universe is the mother of despair.

Terror upon terror, no rest and no care,
Questions unanswered, regard never shown,
Only man has crafted the rulebook of fair.

Yet humanity claims that reason is there,
Recognizing not the celestial tone—
The Universe is the mother of despair,
Only man has crafted the rulebook of fair.
