Fountain Of Youth
I would die to be young again
Back to the good old days of
Attacking the rabid beasts
Hiding under my
Canopy bed
Loaded with a mere dollar store flashlight
And childhood innocence;
Before of course you realized
The monsters can torment you
Day or night
Flashlight and innocence beside.
Before you realize
Hiding swaddled in Care Bear blankets
Does no man good;
The
Hate and fear can always find you.
That though my loving teddy
Promised he would always be there for me
At the end of the day,
It has no life,
Soul,
Or mortality.
Tear after tear fall down my face as I write these truths
because oh how I would die to be young again.
