the boy from queens
a crumpled up note
tears on my cheeks
a symbol of lost hope
plays each night in my dreams
a harmless question was asked
but now I have to put it in the past
sorting through the memories
of the beautiful boy from queens
holding on to everything
gotta learn to let go
I'm a city girl
he's a beach kinda boy
I'm used to sudden sounds
he only knows the waves
he lives for the sun
when he can cruise his turf
I live for the cold
when I can build my dreams
in snow
sorting through the memories
of the beautiful boy from queens
holding on to everything
gotta learn to let go
I'll imagine what we could've been
if only we weren't so young
I imagine what we could've been
if the crush wasn't so one sided
I tried to move on
pretend everything was the same
but it wasn't
he knew
so scared to step out of my clique
and trespass on his athletic vibe
to even say hello
would be a battle that I could never win
