voices

By
Laying in the grass and leaves looking up into the sky
The trees full of beautiful oranges, reds and splashes of green
Not ready for the yelling voices inside
The trees feel like open arms,
Ready and willing to keep her calm
Listen to the voices get louder
The winds blow, trying to drown them out
The dead leaves on the ground hiding the green beneath
Waiting for the white blanket to help it hide
Listen to the voices get louder
She tries to hide under the dying leaves
Yet it doesn't seem to be enough
Listen to the voices get louder
She lays on the ground envious of the birds above
And their ability to fly away
Listen, as the voices get louder
The sun hides behind the clouds
Running from the voices inside
She lies waiting to be hidden
Waiting for the voices to stop
Listen to the voices get louder
Louder and louder they become
Wiping away the leaves
Exposing her to their voices
Listen to the voices get louder
She lies waiting
Waiting for them to stop.
