Hero
I want to be a hero.
Not the kind that flies,
Or can break down a door without effort,
I want to be a hero to someone.
I want to be a hero.
The kind my peers can look up too.
A hero that will be there for someone when needed most.
I want to be a hero among the many.
I want to be a hero.
One that won't hesitate to help another,
Even if it's not popular.
The kind without one specific friend,
But many.
I want to be hero to everyone.
I want to be a hero.
A hero who's not afraid of commitment.
One that is loved for who she is.
I want to be a hero that doesn't pretend.
I want to be a hero.
To be able to slip into a room unnoticed.
To be there at the exact moment when needed.
I want to be a hero to the timid
I want to be a hero.
A pillow, a special teddy bear, a baby blanket,
Something one can cry into and talk to'
Knowing there will be no judgments or accusations.
I want to be a hero to the broken.
I want to be a hero.
One that doesn't need introducing,
Just knowing I'll make it better.
I want to be a hero that can be trusted.
I want to be a hero.
