The Sailor

I always loved the misty spray
Flowing loosely in my hair
And the rocking way by way
Against the stormy oceans dare

I've seen the ports and crossed the seas
Aboard my always shifting sail
I rode the wind that scarred the trees
Distant stars my only trail

I never caught the suns first light
While sailing on my way
But the skies were red and bright
A warning to obey

I rode a ship once cast away
Across a baby blue
But the morning spelled my day
Striking scarlet keeping true

this work was originally submitted as part of a larger collection of poems. I resubmitted it because i noticed that other poetry authors submitted their works one at a time. I have also submitted this work to turnitin.com, which would explain why this would appear to be unoriginal, even though it isn't.
