The Golden Leafed October

The clocks that tick here
In the golden leafed October
Remind me of a time
Before your life was over

They remind of windows open and curtains drawn
Of fires started in the rocks
And the sun kissed golden dawn

They remind me of pine-scented candles
And piles and piles to rake
And the every changing leaves
The trees would slowly shake

They remind me of lazy days
Sipping hot tea
And all the since-passed moments
That have made me me

But most of all those clocks remind me
Of time well spent with you
And they will always tick the same
Long after I'm gone too
