Silky hair frames a porcelain face
A dress that's decked in beads and lace

Perfect portions, figures faultless
Expressions frozen, ever dauntless

Dainty hands forever clasped
'Round umbrellas, bags, and mardi gras masks

Some flaunt hats or velvet bows
A pallid daisy or blood red rose

Glassy eyes gaze back at me
I wonder what they really see

The author's comments:
this was inspired by my grandma's collection of dolls; i spent february break at her house, and there is not a single surface that isn't graced by the presence of some sort of doll.
