He has become dependent on everything I do
I am his savior, his keeper, his never-ending light
I battle his demons and slaughter the nightmares
I have become the leader of this on-going fight

He hides from his problems, his worries, and strife
I am his captain, his handler, so delicate and bright
I rampage the past and the future that scares him
I have trailed through his dreams, and protected his night

He must learn to live and become himself
I am no longer holding that ever-blinding light
I fight for myself, and have my own battle cry
I have given him hope, but he must stand to fight

The author's comments:
It's a peice of poetry about a relationship that has one person so dependent on the other, that the passion is no longer there.
