The Silver Falling Rain

She clings to all their memories
Each moment that they laughed and talked
Her longing hopes, desires, dreams,
The words they said, the way the walked

She glimmers with a heart so shattered
That no glues so sturdy or strong
Remembering all the times that mattered
Even though she knows its wrong

She locks each one inside a box
And ties them close to a broken heart
A million pieces bound by a lock
Each piece, each memory a part

Each little wish, each tiny thought
That made her smile, made her sigh
The lake of happiness they brought
Is withered now and almost dry

But she knows better then to cry
She smiles through her hurt and pain
And she knows better then to sigh
Just like the silver falling rain

And now the hurt, the pain disappears
Just like the silver falling rain
That wipes up all her tears and fears
Just like the silver falling rain

She knows that many things have changed
Though he might never know
She knows that things can't stay the same,
Her feelings at a close

She knows that many things have changed,
They aren't like what they used to be
But friendship will always stay the same
An everlasting memory

An everlasting memory
To guide her through the hurt and pain
An everlasting memory
Just like the silver falling rain
