Period 2
The Guardian of Freedom

Leaving their families behind, we owe much
Never forgetting their purpose in harms fire
Sacrifices mean leaving with a crutch
Always confident that right will conquer
Having deadened their emotions for the right
But still caring for that which they fight for
Never turning away from the fight
Experienced much, returning with honor
Selflessness carries all our hopes strongly
This gives them a reason to fight for us
Not many things in our lives come freely
People question, but the fight is a must
We owe our freedom to our strong keen
Our only, the few, the proud, the marines
