My Illegitimate Child

By
I made her
I bore her
Pity she'll never know her mother

I had to give her up to the system
When nobody would listen
When nobody would listen to me
A teenage mother trying to surface, trying to break free

I know her
She thinks she knows me
Not as her mother
But as a dream

Pity she'll never know me
And I'll never know her
Pity you'll never get to see
The beautiful treasure that's come out of me

If I could go back in time
Back to the time I can't forget
I'd remove all this regret
Then I'd officially get to call her mine
If only I could go back in time

But now I'll have to content
With watching her from afar
As this is way better than not knowing my little star
