Towering ominous
He stands in silence
Blustering confidence
Offering quiet guidance
Beaten by the breeze
And taunted by the rain
Almost as if to tease
His relentless constrain
In all his white washed plaster
His mud splatters and his stains
He paints a life tale of disaster
Filled with tears and pains
But he bares his burden in quiet humility
Never asking to be notable
For who in all their sensibility
Thinks to thank a wall?
