Lily

The lily,
it sits soberly upon the grave
contrasting bright to the dismal
surroundings.

Its petals
begin to wilt.
Like the memories
of the person in the ground below.

Soon the flower will wilt to nothing,
and the person will be forgotten.

People move on.
