"Our hearts are drunk with a beauty our eyes could never see."

Your eyes,
when I looked at them I saw a glint,
the glint of reassurance and love,
but now,
it all seems in the past.

Our kisses were so intimate and sincere,
and we had our little pet names,
but slowly we grew up,
and we eventually started to go apart.

Should I blame myself for how I felt during
the time, yes,
but at the time I wasn't ready.
Everything went too fast,
but I never truly knew how much I loved you,
than I do now.

I saw you years later,
and I had my own life,
still single,
but somehow deep inside knowing
that I wasn't.
Then I saw you again,
taller,
and better than I've ever saw you.
We looked at each other and for that
split second I knew that I needed you,
that i wanted you-but I couldn't.
What happened in the past happened,
and I still believe that with every relationship
something fades,
either with words,
or the way you see each other,
or even the connection,
just somehow,
something so small can fall apart,
but it still fades.
