I wish that I could write today,
but I don't know what to say.

The words that normally flow free,
just won't seem to come to me.

Quickly, quietly slipping away
nothing seems to want to stay.

Words whirling round and round,
thoughts tumbling to the ground.

Fearfully forcing all of it,
bit by tiny little bit.

I suppose that this is the end,
since this block won't seem to bend.

Now I bid you a fond farewell,
before the final wailing bell.

I must go before I cry,
so now I tell you all: goodbye.
