I loved him through his bumps and lumps
I loved him through his twists and turns
I loved him through his hate and fear
I loved him through every tear

I loved him when he was angry or mad
I loved him when he was frustrated or sad
I loved him when he was happy or excited
I even loved him when he was grumpy and tired

I loved him when he lost a game
I loved him when he won a game
I loved him when he failed a test
and I loved him when he aced a test.

I loved that boy through thick and thin
But the problem was…

That he didn’t love me though my bumps and lumps
He didn’t love me through my twists and turns
He didn’t love me through my hate and fear
He didn’t love me through every tear.

He didn’t love me when I was angry or mad
He didn’t love me when I was frustrated or sad
He didn’t love me when I was happy or excited
He didn’t even love me when I was grumpy and tired

He didn’t love me when I lost a game
He didn’t love me when I won a game
He didn’t love me when I failed a test
and He didn’t love me when I aced a test.

I loved that boy through thick and thin
But the problem was him.

I wrote this poem about a boyfriend who abused me in the past and how it took me over a year to get away from him.
