The New Day

January 19, 2009

Some say it’s crazy,
Some even absurd.
But one day soon
They will all eat their words.

Assuming is judging,
And judging’s a sin.
I am succeeding at life.
That’s one game I can win.

So please don’t assume
Or think thoughts that aren’t true.
Because even if I’m mad,
I wouldn’t do it to you.

You don’t know me that well,
Nobody really does.
And please do not say
That you’re doing it just because.

You’re not doing it just because.
You do it because you’re scared.
You wish to play the game,
But do not want to be snared.

This game is called life,
And everybody’s a pawn.
You act so cruel,
But here comes the dawn.

The dawn is familiar.
A brother, a friend.
You can’t change the rules,
But the dawn can make them bend.

You envy their power,
So you have to betray.
You betrayed me
So I’m walking away.

Some say it’s crazy,
Some even absurd.
But one day soon
They will all eat their words.
