As I look outside my window I see crisp white snow
falling from the sky, landing on the ground.
The air is cold and the trees stand bare.

I make hot cider and sip carefully, from fear of burning my tongue. The hot drink makes me warm, as I sit down with family members. I smell the air in the house overflowing with Christmas scents.

As I am in the Christmas spirit, the first thing that comes to mind is all the gift. Every one of them wrapped to perfection, covered with elaborate, shinny, decorative paper.

I try to sit calmly and contain myself in front to family members, but ever at age fifteen, I feel my anticipation of knowing what's inside that shinny box rising, like a little kid about to explode.

I can't sit still.
I've been counting down the days till Christmas.
I want to rip open that paper, with absolutely no control. I can no long wait. The time has come.
