The sound of gunshots
Ring loud in my ears
No matter how far
Or fast I run

I see their faces
In my dreams
And I wake screaming
Knowing
I'll never see them
Without that pain again

No matter what people say
It will always be
Because of me
I might as well
Have pulled the trigger
That ended them

As long as their pain
Haunts me in my dreams
I will be
The reason they are gone
I can never escape that

This poem is about how I'm afraid that something might happen to the people I care about. That I might hurt them or be the reason they are gone.
