America the beautiful,
I'm lying here bleeding for thee.
I sacrificed everything,
Just so my children could live free.
With mud on my face,
and death on my breath,
I mumble a prayer
hoping that the free shall still be.
I hope my family will see,
that I did all this for them;
for the red white and blue
and for the strangers on the street.
I turn my face skyward and for the last time I see...
that great bald eagle soaring free.
