Fireworks
Autumn leaves turn sudden
when summer walked away.
We sit, staring into the night
wishing we could be the stars
dancing across the sky.
You didn’t have to stay
but here you are.
Your smile hides the moon.
We dance beneath
the October fireworks
flaming through the sky.
We dance into the sparkling night
because we are the stars.
If time could stop
where we are
Maybe we could stay forever.
The stars are shining bright
and we’re falling high.
