If I could see your face
Just one more time today
I wouldn’t feel like crying
Having to say goodbye this way.
If I could be with somebody,
Anybody, just not alone,
I wouldn’t feel so lonely
And longing for my home.
If I could hold your hand
And wipe away your tears
Maybe I wouldn’t be so sad
And trying to fight my fears.
If I could give you a hug
And tell you I’m just fine
Perhaps you would be happier
Feeling this gentle sign.
If I could see your face
Just one more time today
I wouldn’t feel like crying
Having to say goodbye this way.
