Cancer Stinks
Not everyone has it
But everyone hates it
The treatments are nasty
They cause pain and suffering
Families cry
Friends worry
And children wonder why
The patient’s sadness is hidden by their smile
Hospital visits are never fun
Not for you, or me, not for anyone
Each night you wish and you hope
Sometimes you lie awake trying not to worry
Battle after battle
There are triumphs and failures
Most people try to be strong
Everyone is affected, from children to adults
With sadness and despair
Cancer Stinks

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece because a few people in my family have been eflicted with cancer in the past. Not everyone passed from it, but it still stinks to live with.

This is beautiful @WriterWannaBe ! In such simple language you captured the emotions of living around people with this illness. :)
