My dream
High school is a prison;
Bars hold you back from the magical forest
Damp floors chill your toes,
Showerless teens smell up the halls with
Acne redder than Rudolph's nose.
All along I have been locked in a desk at Oshkosh North
Just another teenager trying to move forth.
Amber Jacklin and Zach Coffin slack often
they’re both late to class to rebel against the guards.
High school is nothing like a prison,
More like a deserted boot camp
Nothing but crappy food, s***** attitudes, and smart remarks
at teachers who pretend not to care.
Their attitudes are whacked out and disrespectful
As if they are too cool to understand purple shoes
They hate the teachers they say
I was one of those students,
Counting grey coals of hatred
Rebellion sparking the flames of graduation
When people held their heads high
Ready to jump off a cliff
and live to tell their story.
High schools bars have held me,
far from my dreams
My sentence is almost served
Ill be free June 12th, 2014
