We’ll all rise together someday:
When the bombs start to fall
When loaded guns have their say

When the enemy ships enter the bay
Know that life exists beyond a bunker’s wall
And we’ll all rise together one day.

If streets are lined with bodies that lay
Remember that peace exists for all
And we’ll all rise together one day.

That the sun forever shines with a golden ray
And you’ll hear children from the hills call
“We’ll all rise together one day.”

And though strength can suffer from delay
And you may lose faith with evil’s crawl
Remember that even amongst decay
That even when rulers look to Saul

That life and hope will find a way
And we’ll all rise together one day.

The author's comments:
This poem was inspired by Dylan Thomas' "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night". The poem's message of resilience in the face of an obstacle stayed with me long after I read it, and helped me with the emotions that went into this poem. I hope that people can read this poem and feel that same emotion, and get in touch with the courage and resilience that's inside of all of us.
