The Widow

It's done and
Gone, but the love lives on.
Can't do it,
Still feel it.

He was the iceberg to
my Titanic.
Gorgeous, yet daunting.
A connection turned fatal.

And then he melted while
I sank.
Still here I wait for
The damage to repair.

I wrote this after I was diagnosed with my second stress fracture, leaving me unable to run for six weeks. It's an attempt to describe the force running has on me, even when I'm unable to compete.
