Fire

Gentle ashes rise
Vividly gleaming
Above red hot flames
That lick at the cool autumn air
I watch the ashes glow
Like red wiggling worms
Against a black canvas
Of night
They squirm
And disintegrate quickly
Turning brown,
Floating towards the stars

I stare into the fire
As wood turns
To black charcoal
With vibrant colors,
Blood red, canary yellow, beautiful orange
The wood crackles
And sparkles
As it burns
Spits sparks upon my bare feet
And I just giggle at the burn
For feelings surrond this fire
That force your lips to smile

Grey smoke rises
Mixes with the crisp, cold air
It burns your throat and your eyes
Yet blazing embers
Of pine, spruce and oak
Smell so good
The burn is disregarded
The smoke pours into the sky
I watch it dissapear
At peak height
Vanished,
Into the clouds

I try to absorb the fire
Soak it all in
To carry on the feeling,
The beautiful burning,
Vibrant colors
To harder days
When atumun and it's splendor
Are long forgotten
When winter comes
In bleakness
I will remember this fire
As a token to her days
