The City

I feel the wet,
cold sand against my back.
I lie there,
watching the tide
come.
I inhale as the icy water
washes over me.
Slowly,
I bring myself
back to consiousness.
Standing up,
I suddenly see Her.
She's beautiful.
Her buildings built
into the rock
of the cliff,
stacked upon each other.
The colors of Her city
amaze me.
Crimson by sapphire,
ginger next to gold.
A field of deep emerald
trails up into
the hills.
Water splashes
against the cliff
softly,
and pulls me from
my daze.
I swim back to the boat
whispering,
Goodbye.
Farewell,
she replys.
