All I Remember Is The Rain

All I remember is the rain
Touching its cool face to mine
Anointing the earth with sky-tears
As my own fell to the wet ground, lost in its sea.

All I remember is the grass
So bright and cheerful in the rain
Standing straight up to greet it
As if my grief did not matter, as if it meant nothing to the world.

All I remember is the sky
Bruised and blackened with storm
Crying and bleeding around me
As I stood small and insignificant, clutching my sorrowful load.

All I remember is that rain
Mocking me, yet joining me
And I just can’t seem to remember much of anything but rain from the sky
And rain from my eyes.

I don't understand why this doesn't have an editors choice - it is beautiful! :)
