"No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man." - Heraclitus

This emptiness is terrifying,
I find nothing to hide behind.
My wounds stay open and unsealed,
My mind is wandering, head spinning like a wheel.

I am no more than a toy,
An empty object used by boys.
Who I am is meaningless,
I am made for mans greediness.

Tear me open and spit me out,
Don't take time to see what I'm all about.
Who wants true love anyway?
I'd rather be abused any day.

They say you accept the love you feel you deserve,
For me, something genuine must be too absurd.
I float around like an empty page,
I tolerate men so they get their way.

I can't let myself fall for your charms,
Your bright blue eyes and open arms.
I love the warmth of your close embrace,
And feeling your hand grace my neck and face.

The darkness drags me deep below,
An eats the happiness I longed to know.
Love and hope are only words,
I've never felt, but only heard.
