A sign of Hope

If I could fly away to another world,
My troubles would be so far.
And so brightly the sun would shine in my face,
All my bitterness would be melted.
I would live in a palace of dreams,
My tears would be dried by the warmth,
Of my companions that have fled from their pasts,
And all we’d look for is the bright future that leads the way.

But even so, in my dreams,
I still see such lonesome eyes,
Eyes that fill with tears and pain.
It’s as if her agony touches my soul through dreams,
I feel her sorrow, her cry.
The little girl that I once knew,
Where is she now?
If only she knew,
I, too, was there,
Sitting alone in the same darkness,
If only she knew.
Maybe her eyes would not be so sad,
Perhaps her soul would not be so cold and hurt.

One day I’ll meet that girl,
Who I once knew,
And show her a place where dreams come true,
Where happiness is genuine,
And nobody lies.
Someday she’ll come to me.
And we will reach our dream,
So that our tears will dry completely,
The sunshine will heal all our wounds,
And a smile will form on the our faces,
A smile that carries hope.
