Walk Backwards

I am so unforgiving.
I cannot forgive myself.
If you hurt me,
I’ll get over it.
If I hurt myself,
I’m reminded again of
How weak I am.
How much stronger
I could be if I
Just let the past go.
I know I look back
Far too often.
But I’m so afraid.
Something is following me.
The more I look back,
The more it hurts,
The more it hurts,
The bigger it gets,
The bigger it gets, the slower I can move
And soon I won’t be moving at all.
But that’s okay.
Because I need to stop and remember
To forgive.
Until then, however,
I may just as well walk backwards

Oh gosh, I've done this so many times. I've been through this before, and now...now i'm finally letting the past go. And it hurts. It hurts. This is deep and wonderful. Thank you, for sharing this.
