Not a happy smile
But a guarded one
Maybe even a bit of a smirk
That’s hiding something
Behind white teeth
Clenched
Refused to be spoken
Dying to escape
Held in tighter
Or risk letting out
A sea of regret
Keep back your words
As hard as you can
One slip
And you’ll have to face the consequences
All because of one mischievous grin
