"Shoot for the moon; even if you miss you'll land amongst the stars.

It's like an on-going cycle
Of hurt and pain
It's like trying to run from something that drags
You back
To the bittersweet memories of the past
It was like a white canvas
I was like a white canvas
But no one painted beautiful art on me
I was like a dove
I was like a clear piece of paper
But no one wrote on me
It was like yesterday
When it was years ago
I didn't understand
I didn't know why
It hurt
It hurt
And it tore me inside out
I told
I spoke
It's not your fault
My family broke apart
Nothing was the same
Yet nothing had changed
I was a blemished dove
A patched up canvas
A piece of paper, burned to ashes
The cut, it opened
It never ever healed
I was broken
Drowned in my own tears
Alone is the way
My way of copeing
Sleepless nights
I thought and wondered
WILL IT EVER END?
No
No
No
My memories screamed
Then they replayed the times
I was vulnerable and open
My tears
They hurt
My eyes were swollen
And nobody cared
I was forgotten
It was years ago!
Why can't I move on?
It'll always be with me
I'll bleed
I'll bleed
The memories will never surrender.

It's possible to forgive, but you'll never forget.
