If you're absent during my struggle. Don't expect to be present during my success.

To the wife whose felt the blow of whiskey.
To the son who has to hide his face.
To the daughter who doesn't see her beauty.
All because they've been slaves to hate.

To the soldier who has risked his life.
To the man whose heart was torn.
To the woman who has lost her love
all because of war.

To the father who works day and night
just to make ends meet.
To the mother who goes to school
to help support her family.

Life is full of tribulations,
rough times and trials.
We just have to stop and take a breath
every once and a while.

It may be hard
through the road you're on
but hold on tight
and just stay strong.

Arise and be all that you dream - Flyleaf

I love the message conveyed in this piece. It's refreshing to read uplifting poetry. I wish there was more of that on TI. There are a few meter issues - predominately in the third stanza. Other than that, I think it's a wonderful poem.
