Ode to Youth

September 30, 2008
By Anonymous

I am Adolescent,
resistant.
My tongue is loose with fire,
burning.
Like the volcanoes on my face,
volatile, pubescent.

I am Child,
inconsistent.
My will is with the wind,
stormy.
Like the shifting of the season,
growing, wanting.

I am young,
distant.
My heart beats fast inside,
Hidden.
Like a pearl inside an oyster,
vulnerable.
