"I have been given the choice of playing God or leaving practically everything up to chance. It is my experience that practically everything is left up to chance much of the time; men who believe in good and evil, and who believe that good should win, should watch for those moments when it is possible to play God – we should seize those moments. There won’t be may."

Await the calm within the storm,
Where shrouded mists obscure all form.
Winding paths to broken dreams,
Nothing's ever as it seems.
Boughs resigned to break or bend,
Holding out long past the end.
Shadows form and shadows fall,
No rhyme or reason to it all.
Shattered mirrors, shards of glass
Dare all to walk, approach and pass.
Wraithlike dancers writhe in pain
While others from their sorrows gain.
Blind in anguish, wrought with strife,
Surrender hope, forfeit life.
Or keep fighting, moving in,
To the ending waiting to begin.
Fight the shadows in your mind,
Fight to break the bonds that bind.
Become yourself, define your form,
Create your calm within the storm.

It is better to write for yourself and have no audience than write for your audience and have no self.
